Welcome to the Meiyo - Nottingham - Karate Club website. The term 'Meiyo' (pronounced 'Meh-yo') means 'Honour' or 'Honourable' depending on how it is used in the Japanese language. The club is affiliated to the JKR-UK.

We study Shindo Jinen Ryu - a cross-training system incorporating elements of Karate-jutsu, Akaijutsu, Kenjutsu and Jujutsu with a strong emphasis on self defence - under the guidance of Sensei Simon Oliver 7th Dan. Sensei Oliver assesses all of our Kyu grade students. All of our Dan grade candidates are assessed by Sensei Yamazaki 9th Dan.

All our instructors are DBS checked and all have First Aid qualifications. Our Instructors are recognised by both National and International Governing bodies.

Club training is a £10 per week subscription per person that covers you for 3 lessons per week. If 3 or more members of the same family train together (eg 2 parents 1 child, 1 parent 2 children etc) - the youngest trains free.
Meiyo Tigers subscription is £3 per week - subject to available spaces.
