Not the first negative review

There were previously other negative reviews about Melanie James Boutique. But they have strangely been removed once I regrettably mentioned them to Melanie herself. I had high expectations when I first decided to have my dress made here, as Melanie seemed very friendly & professional and the boutique is lovely. I was very excited about the sample dress I chose, but just like the woman’s previous review when it came to my first fitting, the dress was not the one I had chosen. For example the original sample dress I had selected had tiny delicate glass beads sewn onto the lace. However, the dress that she produced had been made with large silver sequins covering the top half of the dress. It turned out after much discussion that the wrong sample dress had been used to make my wedding dress. The lace detail was also different lengths around the dress and wasn’t evenly spaced out as it should have been. Very naively I then made the decision to move forward and continue to still have my dress made at Melanie James Boutique. I hoped she would amend this large mistake, which she guaranteed she would. However over the course of the coming weeks more and more issues arose and I began to get extremely concerned and anxious about my dress being made correctly. I was told the original sample dress I had chosen had now been used elsewhere. I found this very worrying as she had specifically told me the sample dress would be used side by side to make the new corrected wedding dress, after the initial mistake. This, plus a lack of communication on her part and several other issues meant I had now lost all faith in her. Once I told her this, a full refund was given, yet no apology at all. I am now 9 weeks away from our wedding day and I don't have a dress, and this did not seem to concern Melanie in the slightest. I would not recommend Melanie James Boutique.
