Award winning chef/patron Stephen Gomes would like to welcome you to the website of his flagship restaurant 'Moksh' at Cardiff Bay.
Set in the vibrant heart of Cardiff Bay at Mermaid Quay, Stephen has developed a unique 'Modern Indian' restaurant concept that blends traditional, authentic indian flavours with contemporary presentation.
Perhaps best described by Laura Lowe food critic for Cardiff Life as "Fine dining Indian cuisine without the price tag. Stylish, sophisticated, delicious - what more could you want".
There is a definite Goan influence in many dishes on the menu, reflecting Stephens background, but also contains recipes from Stephens travels throughout India and Asia.
Moksh at Cardiff Bays history is inextricably linked with the background of its chef/patron Stephen Gomes.
Following 15 years spent progressing from demi chef, through senior head chef, to group administrative chef at a variety of 5 star hotels throughout Asia, Stephen Gomes settled in Cardiff working for the Cafe Naz Restaurant Group. This is where Stephen gained his first experience of independent restaurants and led to the desire to open his own establishment.
Stephen wanted to balance the fine dining experience he had learnt in the hotel industry with the aromatic flavours and recipes of his childhood and bring it to an independent restaurant in his new home town.
'Moksh' at Cardiff Bay was born in 2007.
Moksh will be launching a weekday two course set lunch menu at the end of August. Chef Stephen Gomes is currently creating an exciting menu that will suit the palette of the lunchtime diner. The menu will be displayed here as soon as it is finalised.
