Getting Better...

Service

I have just had my vehicle, Grand Voyager, serviced again at what is now Chrysler Oxford.. (Varisty). I must say I too have not had the best experiences in the past, but this time was much better, they now have a proper reception, and a friendly greeting! I had come in with some problems on the car as well, and the service chap explained everything to me, what they had done and why it happened ( windows stoped working because a wire was rubbing again part of the door) they fixed this free of charge including replacing the wire, and secured it so it will not happen again. After having two mediocre experiences, this one was way better. They guy said they have had a total restructure and are bringing in new people.... Who knows maybe this place is starting to become something!

I agree with the sentiments expressed by other reviewers here. My experiences of Varsity (as it used to be called) are not good, and I've been foolish enough to go back there three times. I guess that's one of the drawbacks of running an American car in the UK - few options when it comes to support and servicing. Customer service at Varsity is non-existent. You walk into the reception, and you'll be ignored for ten minutes as staff bustle about looking for something else to do. You'll be lucky if you get a grunt in acknowledgement of your presence. As a customer here, you're made to feel that you're doing them a favour by walking through the door, and in a way, you are, because you'll be giving them money for shoddy work and extortionate hourly rates. I had a dashboard warning light come on. Only Varsity seem capable of running the appropriate diagnostics, so I had to go to them. The fault was diagnosed, and at great expense, repaired. Less than a week later, it came on again. Another expensive diagnostic check later, and the same fault is confirmed. Did they make good the failed repair? No, I was expected to pay through the nose a second time. On another occasion I had a minor while-u-wait repair done. It took 20 minutes - I know, I was sitting there in reception being ignored. I was still charged for the full hour's labour (must be nearly £100 at Varsity, judging by their bills). What's more, as Dave D observes, they deny all knowledge of "known faults". That "while-u-wait" repair was for a problem that had me trailered home by the RAC, and the mechanic explained that he'd taken another identical fault to Varsity only ten days previously, yet they said they'd "never seen this happen before." If I had a choice I'd never go back there again.
