Are the kennels really to blame?
My lovely lurcher was bought from mount Pleasent Kennels in July 2011. 18 months later and he is still with us in his forever home. He too was taken to the Kennels by the Doncaster Council Dog Warden Service. Your comment, Karen, is a fair point about vetting prospective dog owners. However, I believe this wouldn't make much difference. I have found that when humans want shut of a dog the animals days are numbered. Marie, I hope you took the appropriate legal action and now have your pet back. Also, I hope all pet owners, chip, neauter and vacinate.

not a good re-homer of lost dogs
I have ended up giving a home to what I now know was a dog found wandering in Doncaster town. This dog was re-homed by a lady at beginning of June 2012. The dog went on to live with someone else in Armley, Leeds & I found her advertised on a website....I will look after this young bitch properly, but I feel that the Mount Pleasant people were short-sighted in letting this dog go to whomever. AND having read the comments left by Marie Jeeves, I am now cross!

Useless kennels!!!
To the proprioters of Mount Pleasant Kennels I am thoroughly disgusted in your behaviour regarding the search of my sons STOLEN 6 month old Border Collie bitch. After calling you constantly for 3 weeks we now find out from the police, that you have sold her on to new owners (strangely enough on the same street as my son). The present owners are claiming that they bought her from you in good faith on the 27th of December, which is strange as she was only stolen on the 28th. We have put signs up and posted leaflets looking for her and have been in constant contact with you and LostDog only to find you have let her go without contacting her devastated owners. Do you know the effect this will have on the 4 young children when they see someone else walking their dog down the street. If you wish to dispute this allegation, please do not hesitate to contact the police at their main Doncaster station. Names and crime numbers can be supplied Marie Jeeves
