Valentine's Evening Sham!

Please DO NOT waste your time, effort or money visiting this restaurant! We visited Mr Chu's for what should have been a romantic Valentine's Evening treat with my husband of 5 months. We have visited this restaurant several times before as a couple and with corporate events/functions, which I hasten to add we shall never use again! From start to finish the whole evening was an utter disgrace. We were served a 5 course meal with no cutlery/chopsticks having had to request them several times at different course intervals until they were finally given to us mid way through the main course, which was abruptly served by the young teenage waiters with no explanation of what the dishes were....the chopsticks turned up after 5 minutes with the main on the table. ...a cold main course by this point I might add with no apology or offer to reserve our meal! We complained the food was cold but the waitress took no notice and walked off! The food was bland and quite obviously created for the masses with the 'ship em in ship em out' attitude to generate cash! The desert, chocolate fudge cake, served and was very stale and the red wine (bottle) we ordered was cold! The restaurant was freezing and so we ate sat in coats as did many other couples. The crockery was chipped and cracked and the toilets struggled to provide more than a drip of water from the taps and the hygiene was disgraceful with your feet quite literally sticking to the floor! When we came to pay at the door we attempted to express our concerns to the young Chinese waitress and the elderly Chinese lady who sat on the cash register counting cash who would not lift her head to acknowledge or give any form of eye contact with us, her customers! Quite literally the elderly lady abruptly said 'Card!' (Referring to payment). We went on to outline our disgust at the course of the evening and said we'd used the restaurant several times before and for corporate events. We were continually ignored and what was made apparent was they simply wanted or money. We stated with the service we received we would not be returning again...the younger lady shouted quite aggressively that we should not speak to the (elderly) lady this way whilst she was counting cash!!!!!! The young lady then went on to shout 'go, get out we don't want you to come back to the restaurant anyway!' Quite simply Mr Chu ' s are a money making racket quite content on providing horrendous service, appauling food and spoiling special events in the lives of their customers....at whatever cost....'ship em in ship em out money racket'! The whole establishment is not only a food hygiene hazard with rude, abrupt and aggressive staff but the outside (car parking) area is overflowing with rubbish and quite evidently houses rats!
