I took my car in for a service on Sat. The bloke in the reception phoned me up to tell me that my brake pads were "worn to the metal" and brake discs were lapped and ribbed and my OSF tyre was worn to the chords. They quoted me £700, from past experience I know that it is company policy to try and "influence" (screw) the customer into replacing the brake discs as well as the pads because it turns a £100 into a £500 job. Went to get the car, the brake pads had 7 mm of material and needed changing and the tyre was worn. They parked the car in such a way that I could not walk around the car. I got back and had to wash the car to get rid of all of the oily handprints off the body. I then found the wheel that they changed the tyre on damaged and the damage had been covered with grease. I know for a fact the wheels were undamaged because I had just got them back from being rennovated and powder coated and they were like new. Its pretty obvious to me that the idiot who changed the tyre had a 15 inch wheel on the machine before mine and was too stupid to realise 17 is bigger than 15 or could not be bothered to set up bead lifter on the leverless tyre machine correctly and it damaged the rim. I went in today and the manager said "LOOK HERE I'M THE MANAGER AND I WILL NOT HAVE SOME BLOKE TELL ME ABOUT TYRES. YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT TYRES AND HOW WE TAKE THEM OFF" I spent 4 years in an RAF tyre bay taking Tornado GR4 and Eurofighter wheel assemblies apart and I found his attitude very insulting. I fully expect to be accused of doing the damage myself and trying to stitch them up. At the moment they are offering 50% off and MOT, its lure to get you in. When you go in to get your car back you hammered for about £500-£700 of work that needs to be done. My advice is that if you have more money than sense go here, if not find another place to go
