I recently went to the New Venture Hotel, and was pleasantly surprised, after reading some of the reviews. We were on the top floor which had a sky light which was really lovely. The room we had was of reasonable size and extremely clean and tidy, with a portable television and tea and coffee making facilities. The only negative thing I could say is that the bathroom had a folding pvc door, which did not give much privacy, however this was not a problem for us. I have stayed in blackpool on several occasions, and this was by far the best bed and breakfast we have stayed in. The propriotor was very friendly and helpful, and chilled bottles were available at the bar at any time. The breakfast was very enjoyable, with plenty of everything. It was about 10 minutes walking distance to the tower, so the location was ideal.

We just got back from a girlie weekend in Blackpool and had a fab time! I don't even get the previous comments on here about this hotel, we were seriously worried about what we'd find in hotel after reading about them but 2 comments added on the same day by different people? Anyway, if you're looking for the Ritz don't stay here, it's basic but it's clean and the owner is really friendly, it's all you need for a place to rest your head (and who can complain when you consider how cheap it is?). There is nothing nasty under the bed (or at least there wasn't under mine, I checked after the previous review). And the bar is small (which we had been told before we went) but the owner was happy to get us drinks whenever we asked (even at silly o'clock in the morning when we got back from drinking in town!) We'd definitely go back!

omg what a dump!! Don't look under the beds something might bite you. The smell, especially when they started cooking breakfast made you want to spew, most of us went elswear to eat. THERE IS NO BAR!!!!!!! Even though it tells you there is and there's a picture of it, it is NOT used and there's no lounge either so you've got to stay in your scruffy room. Think twice before booking

Oh my god, when was the last time this hotel was cleaned, I'm glad we only stayed there one night, I needed fumigated after leaving, didn't get a wink of sleep, NO BAR or LOUNGE even though it was advertised as such, even though we where drunk I think we would have needed to be comatozed to sleep easy here, why would anyone recommend it. Trading standards here we come
