About

cosy bed and breakfast

The Anvil offers cosy accommodation in the recently restored stable and forge in the former village blacksmiths in one of the most popular East Yorkshire Wolds villages. Guests will experience a courteous and friendly service.

North Newbald nestles on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds and is popular with both walkers and cyclists. This lovely village is home to one of the oldest and most historic churches in the area and is clustered around a quaint village green which it shares with two traditional pubs serving good ales and food.

The Anvil is a great place to stay for just one night or a whole week. The Wolds are one of the great undiscovered quiet corners of England and North Newbald is an ideal base to explore them on foot or cycle. By car or bus you are within easy reach of the historic city of York (30 minutes) the port of Hull (20 minutes) or the Yorkshire Moors and Coast (1 hour). With many other attractions in the area its certainly worth stopping here a while. The Anvil annexe provides spacious accommodation with a gravelled drive providing off street parking for visitors cars and secure garaging is available for up to two motorcycles or bicycles. Breakfast is continental self service style. We do not serve meals but both village pubs 50 metres away serve good quality food at reasonable rates and are open every evening. We are strictly non-smoking.

Formerly the stable with vaulted ceiling and oak king post trusses, now converted into the bedroom with double bed and space for the addition of a travel cot if required. There is a large pine wardrobe with plenty of hanging space and bedside tables.
