What can I say, romantic, friendly, delicious food. Soft lighting, Italian music, an eclectic mix of staff. It is a perfect place for an evening meal. The terrace is like being in Italy!! I had the fish cakes to start- wow, my girlfriend had the mozzarela tart- highly recommended, then we had the fillet medalions, the sauce and mash were out of this world, my girlfriend had a pasta meat balls- i ate half, so tasty. Then we had a fruit pavloa, which really was too beautiful to eat- but it was too tasty to not!! and a pistachio ice cream - which was authenticly home made- not like some other restaurants that serve sweet ice!! I went home stuffed to the brim, and possibly a stone heavier, but it was well worth it. A real gem of a place, and a massive contrast to all the other chains in uxbridge.

I'm recently new to the area, and was pleasantly surprised to find such a good Italian restaurant. It has a great homely feel and the prices are very reasonable. I tend to agree with "ivodaems", support the local family restaurants and not the over priced generic food from other Italian chains around.

Nona Rossa is located at the end of the high street. Most people don't visit it because they don't know it's there. And that is a true pity. If you visit Uxbridge, you should try it out. It is real Italian home cooking at its best. I usually choose the mussels provencale (8 pounds including bread and fries!). My partner always take the spaghetti bolognese or the scaloppini (veal). They have great pizza too. Don't give your money to chains like Pizza Express. This family place is cheaper, better and definitely healthier!
