We went to Noor Jahan on a Friday night around Christmas time last year. The whole of the City Centre was buzzing, but unfortunately we were the only people (apart from another couple who arrived later) in this particular restaurant. The deal of £9 for starter, main and naan is good value, however the food was only reasonable for a curry house and in the end once you buy rice and drinks it works about similar to other curry houses. A meal for 2 with a bottle of wine and beer came to about £35. The booths were good, as I am not keen on open plan restaurants, but the general lack of custom made it quiet. The manager was a large loud unkempt woman who unfortunately allowed us to see and hear her rudely bossing the kind passive Indian waiters around. It felt a quite uncomfortable. Anyway, although I wouldn't go again, I get the feeling it probably has better days, and would have been greatly improved if it simply had a better atmosphere and the manager at the very least kept out of earshot of the customers.

Noor jahan provides the best value coupled with quality and excellent service. The special offer of £8.95 includes any starter, main, nan or side dish, paulo rice and coffee - quite simply a bargain. You may think that because of this quality would be compromised but not at all. Particular favourites are Lamb Karahi, Biriyani, Dopiaza with a side of Brinjal Bhaji or peshwari nan. Blow the budget and order poppadoms and pickle tray, essential to start the meal with. We haven't found a better indian in Nottingham let alone as good value. Can get quite busy at weekends.
