About Us.

Welcome to Old Hathern Station, a converted Victorian Railway Station, originally built in 1857, and one of Beechings' closures in the early 1960's.

We have lovingly restored and extended this extremely solid building to create a comfortable home in the heart of rural England, and to provide storage and workshop space for our collection of classic vehicles. Our passion is for all things evocative of a bygone era.

Whether you are looking for a base to explore the wonderful countryside this area has to offer, are visiting on business, are visiting the local Sutton Bonington campus of Nottingham University, need a short stay en route to faraway destinations or seek a few days pampering and retail therapy we can offer you accommodation and refreshment with a flexible and personal touch.

We are situated just 5 mins from Nottingham University Sutton Bonington Campus, 10 mins from J24 of the M1 and East Midlands Parkway Railway Station, and 15 mins from Nottingham East Midlands Airport. The town and city centres of Derby, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray and Nottingham are all within 30 mins drive, or just a few minutes walk and you will find yourself in glorious countryside.

There are many and varied local attractions to tempt you, from the Grand Central Railway preserved line with its glorious steam engines, Castle Donington race track for the motor vehicle enthusiasts, Melton Mowbray pork pies and Nottinghamshire lace.
