We phoned in advance to ask about vegetarian options and were told there were 'five or six' on the menu. When we arrived, there were only two vegetarian meals on the menu, and a third on the special Christmas menu. No one was able to explain why a member of staff had given us incorrect information. The vegetarian in the party ordered the option from the Christmas menu, but we were then told that it 'wasn't available' because the menu had only started that day and they didn't have all the food yet (! - quite an accomplishment, considered that we had been warned that if any one of us ordered off the special menu, we all had to do so). The manager was 'too busy cooking' to speak to us, even though we arrived at 730 and did not depart until 1015, nor did he leave the waitstaff with any suggestion that he might be willing to speak to us by phone. Only by asking the waiter outright was I even given the manager's name. It was unclear why he was so 'busy' in the kitchen as the dining room was empty except for us, and only a few tables were full in the other room. What was clear was his contempt for providing customer service.
