Welcome to Old Mill Motors in Witney. We are a local, family run independent garage established in 1978, serving Witney and the surrounding area with a large base of loyal repeat custom. I bought an old 2003 Trooper knowing very little about them. We had the 4x4 flashing light problem that the dealer we bought from promised was not that much of an issue and probably need a new hose!!! I found Old Mill Motors by chance when buying 2 front seats to replace the old broken ones in the Trooper. When I went to pick up the seats they also helped fix the tail light lens which was not an easy task - they grinded and fiddled with the old mounts and did not give up. I realised that they really like fixing things. They told me quite a lot about the Trooper and I realised that they really did know what they were taking about. I week or so earlier I had taken it to the 'Main Dealer' for a diagnosis of the 4x4 flashing light - 2 hours latter they had only partially run the diagnosis but said they would only charge me for 1 hour! and that I would need to book in again to carry out the rest of the test - £100 down and no nearer to find the problem. These guys said they thought they new the problem - the first shot did not work but they took it in and finally found the problem - a damaged section of wire shorting out the ECU - this replaced and the lights not flashing any more - Main Dealers with technicians - give me old fashioned mechanics with integrity any day of the week. They are helpful and explain everything that they have done even to someone that understands very little about engines their advise is easily understood and they told me several things particular to my vehicle. Will always take my Trooper to these guys from now on even though I live in Coventry!

TROOPER SPARE PARTS
After wasting loads of time and one breaker managing to send the wrong part, through these Parts search sites i spotted these guys on eBay breaking Trooper parts.I wanted a central locking actuator, and got contact from Paul, one of the directors, after emailing them. He said would take part off, gave me a very reasonable price,and would post also,if not local to collect.This vehicle also had the door handles I had been after for some time in exactly the right colour.I asked about the condition,if any scratches etc.Paul happily sent pictures of them, so I could see the condition. Nothing is too much trouble for these guys, and you don`t have to be spending a fortune with them, to get a good service.Been in the motor trade for over 40 years, as a rep, so I know people worth dealing with believe me, and these are one of them! A hidden gem of a garage
Having only recently - at the time - moved to the area, I was stumped as to where to take my faithful, much loved Calibra for its MOT. Having tried a town based firm and being presented with an £800 plus prospective garage bill for bringing a previous car up to scratch, I was anxious to avoid a repeat performance with my latest Vauxhall. Chatting to a local Aerial Square Four owner I struck up a conversation with, he suggested Old Mill Motors, Crawley Mill Industrial Estate on Dry Lane. Heart in mouth and wallet in hand I made an appointment and brought in my Calibra. The business like air that pervaded the whole look of the place was reflected in the attitude of the staff. Courteous, professional and knowledgeable, they dealt with the MOT swiftly and although the car did not generate any recommendations during their examination of the vehicle, they took the time to take me through idiosyncrasies the car might be prone too based on their knowledge and experience of the model. I am now a lifelong customer, happy in the knowledge that I have stumbled across a hidden gem of a garage in the countryside around Witney. Problem with your car? Take it there. MOT due, give them a go. They are thorough and fair in their approach. I am all for supporting local businesses, and when the business is a family run affair, it makes the support all the more special. Thank you Old Mill. Clutch needs changing, so see you soon.
