Our Story

THE INSPIRATION - My Grandfather worked for Courtaulds Textile his whole working life. Starting at 18 years old as a tea boy, his association with the company continued until his retirement! His service at the company was interrupted by the Second World War where he commanded a fleet of minesweepers. He was a well dressed "English Gentleman" always enjoying the fashions of the day and his other passion, Motor Cars, the two went hand in hand! Many of our designs are inspired by what he wore both in war and peace time.

Our Fashion

In our opinion the greatest time for tailored clothes was during the 1920's and 1930's both men's and ladies fashion stood out. It was both elegant and stylish and practical.
Authentic British Clothing deserves only to be made from the highest quality British fabrics, which is what we at Oldfield do, we try and buy from the very best textile houses within the UK and Ireland, Our Fair Isle garments are made by a family run firm in Shetland, and are produced from only the finest Scottish Lambswool, Our Corduroy is sourced from a factory in Yorkshire, our cotton jersey is knitted in Leicester, out Tweed is sourced from Donegalin Ireland. As you can see we try and keep it local!

Delivery, Returns and Exchanges

Ordering
When placing an order you agree that all information given is accurate and complete.

All orders are subject to acceptance and product availability.

Availability information for products is listed on each individual product page. If Oldfield Clothing does not have the stock to deliver the goods you have ordered we will refund your PayPal account until the items are back in stock and ready to be despatched and inform you of the items availability.

All prices listed on oldfieldclothing.com are correct at the time of entering the information, however we reserve the right to change prices of products at any time .
All prices include sales tax.
No contract for the sale of any product will exist between you and oldfieldclothing.com until we accept your order by dispatching the product top you.

If your order has not been accepted you will receive an email from us telling you the reasons why.

Delivery and shipping
We will make every endeavour to fulfil your order within 3 working days unless we notify you by email.

If your order has not been accepted you will recieve an email from us telling you the reasons why or by telephone or in writing. If there is a longer lead time from our supplier, in which case we will inform you of the expected delivery date, or if we are no longer able to supply the goods at all. Goods will be sent to the address given by you at the time of order. If you are ordering more than one item your goods may be sent to you in instalments certain items are out of stock.

If your delivery address is outside of the UK you may have to pay import duties and taxes which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. You must meet any additional charges for customs clearance, please note, customs policies vary widely from country to country so we recommend you contact your local customs office for further information.

Please note international shipments may be subject to cross border inspections by customs authorities.

Payments
Payments are operated by Paypal. By placing an order you agreed to the Terms and Conditions set out by Paypal.

Cancelling / Returns Procedure
If you haven't submitted an order, you may clear the items in your shopping basket at anytime by clicking the "Remove"button next to the product you do not wish to purchase.

If you have placed an order but then wish to change or cancel it please contact us as soon as possible as orders are actioned quickly. We will try our best to make any changes to your order but we can not guarantee that we will be able to do so as the order may have already been processed, in such cases you will have to wait until you receive the order and then follow the normal returns procedures.

Once we have heard from you that you wish to cancel an order, any sum debited to us via Paypal will be re-credited to your Paypal account within 7 days of your order, provided the goods returned are in the same condition when delivered and unworn.

You will be responsible for any charges incurred when returning the good to Oldfield Clothing unless the return is as a result of an error on our part.

Exchange of product
Oldfieldclothing will be happy to exchange for the same or another item on any products that are damaged, faulty or incorrectly shipped through any circumstances that is in our error within 7 days (UK) 10 days (Europe) and 14 days (International) from the date of receipt. The original item will need to be returned first.

Should you purchase an item which is the incorrect size/does not fit (although it is the size you ordered) and you wish to re-order the correct size, either a) fill in the letter enclosed with your item and post back with the returned item. Upon receipt of Oldfield Clothing receiving this, the new item will be posted (please check website to make sure size is in stock) The first exchange on any UK order will be posted free of charge, any subsequent exchanges will incur the postage charges as per the original order. An invoice will be raised, once payment is received the new size will be sent . b)send an e-mail to info@oldfieldclothing.com stating the required size and then point "a" above applies.

For European and International exchanges payment for re-posting will be required as per the original order. An invoice will be raised and the item dispatched on receipt of payment.

Why did we end up building a company that specializes in reproduction clothing?

We enjoy clothes and the different styles of the past. Clothing from the 20s 30s and 40s was not mass produced tat! people knitted, workshops made garments, towns milled cotton and factories within those towns produced beautiful, functional clothing. Shops and business's were independent. All these things appeal to us. So we started out producing trousers, quickly followed by shirts and then caps. There are still people making things in this country, and they do it well.
Our knitwear is predominantly made in Scotland, our shirts and trousers are designed and made in England.
The Accessories you will find in our store are all made in England.
