WHO WE ARE

We are Papermonkey. We experienced the pain which led to the design and drafting of essential business document solutions for UK Start-up and SME businesses so they would not have to go through what we did.

We couldn't shake off the idea!!

Our product was born out of sheer frustration where we (Jane and Kate) previously worked at not being able to find the right essential business documents we needed for everyday business situations. The company spent over 45k in legal advice dealing with the repercussions of it's ‘out of date' (only by months in some cases!) and in many cases ‘absent' paperwork.

The documentation was not in line with UK legislation which left the company exposed to potential tribunals. The recruitment paperwork and contracts of employment were out of date, clauses had not been updated in line with UK law changes. They demanded to be totally rewritten.

Performance management paperwork resulted in compromise agreement pay offs circa 35k. This could have been avoided had correct basic staff management guidelines and documentation been implemented and followed. Dismissals were not only costly but time consuming because the company didn't have the correct staff capability procedure paperwork in place. Extra to all this cost was the added unquantifiable time costs involved of employees and management as they had no structure to follow.

We were advised that pre-employment tribunals were on the increase stemming from simple pitfalls in the interviewing process and not having the correct paper trail. Our interview questionnaires had questions which employers are no longer allowed to ask by law.

To avoid the ever mounting legal and internal admin costs we looked to the internet for solutions but the ones we did find once checked were not UK law compliant and very basic in design and look.
