About

Three self catering cottages, on our small organic farm, on the edge of the picturesque thatched village of Milton Abbas in the heart of Hardy's Dorset with beautiful views to the south coast and the Isle of Wight. Each cottage is equipped to the highest standard and provides an ideal base to explore Dorset and the coast. The cottages are available all year with short breaks out of season.

Randypole Cottage is a wonderfully spacious cottage with a high, beamed ceiling in the living room. The ground floor is fitted with ceramic tiles and under-floor heating not only makes it cosy but makes it a joy for bare feet! The two huge panoramic windows in the lounge give the cottage a light and airy feel and the view is breathtaking. In summer you can have drinks on the patio and in winter you can snuggle up in front of the fire with your cocoa. The well appointed dining room and kitchen are open plan on a split level with utility room/WC off the kitchen. On the first floor there is a double bedroom, a shower room and a bathroom and stairs to the upper floor where there is another double room and a family room with four single beds and a landing wide enough to accommodate one more bed if necessary. The whole cottage is centrally heated.

Milton is a snug cottage designed on one level with two double bedrooms. This cottage is also fitted with ceramic floor tiles, and underfloor heating. The kitchen, dining room and lounge are open plan. There is an inglenook fireplace and french windows in the lounge opening onto the terrace.

Woodview Chalet. The views from the main windows of Woodview are over our 27 acre farm with its beautiful surrounding woodland. Outside the chalet is a fenced area with garden furniture. There is ample parking space.

Woodview has three bedrooms: one double; one twin bedded; and one with full-sized bunks. It also has wheelchair access.

Our nearby thatched village of Milton Abbas is often featured in calenders and film sets depicting its famous street. It boasts a Post Office Stores and Pub which serves excellent food. The village was built as a village by Lord Damer over 200 years ago to replace the houses he had demolished around his residence adjacent to Milton Abbey. At the bottom of the village lies a lake and the grounds of Milton Abbey which were landscaped by the well known landscape designer Capability Brown. The Abbey is half a mile from the village and can be approached on foot along the Monks Path starting at the bottom of the village. Built in the fourteeth century, it was part of a Benedictine monastery until the dissolution of the monasteries by Henry VIII in the sixteenth century. There has been a church on this site for over 1000 years. Above the abbey, in the woods, is a charming fourteenth century chapel used by pilgrims as a stopover en-route across the country.

Or drive the reasonable distance, about half an hour's drive, to one of Dorset's lovely beaches
