I saw some sofas advertised on their eBay selling site and contacted directly as I needed two x four seaters. I ordered in June and paid upfront, being promised delivery in around 4 weeks. 4 weeks came and went, some messages were ignored but eventually in August I received sofas - the wrong ones ! These were collected a couple of weeks later and I received one of the sofas I had ordered but a 3 seater instead of the four; I was promised that they were due to get them in stock at any time but again messages were left unanswered, I was fobbed off with deaths in the company, being in hospital and on holiday (twice). A couple of weeks ago, Jonathan Camilleri (Director) said his suppliers had let him down and he could not get the sofas. Bearing in mind, I ordered these in June and it was now end of October, I asked if he could refund my money asap do I could order from elsewhere; Ignored again, collected the sofa then lied that he had refunded me - turned out it was done much later when I checked. Save yourself from broken promises, dishonesty and poor service. (The three seater sofa that he collected is now being advertised on eBay as 'New, packaging removed to take photos'- again a lie, it was in my house for over a month)

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! You will NOT receive your item or service! experienced the WORST customer service I have ever had to deal with. A Tony Keigher who replies when he wants is either illiterate, incompetent or just a scamer. Go else where it's not worth the tenner you might save.

First time that I have bought from this company. I have found them very helpful and very friendly. Yes, there was a slight delay of a couple of weeks in the delivery, but they had checked it all carefully and it arrived on the day that we arranged and in perfect condition...and so much cheaper than buying it directly from Habitat. I would buy from them again. Sorry to read that some people are not so happy as, from what I understand, this is a small family business. Ps. I am not a family member! :0)

My partner ordered and paid for a bed, arranged delivery for Friday 7th August. She waited in all day, no phone call, no bed! She rang Sat to be told that they had messed up ( we knew that already) and that they would get it to us straight away. They phoned 3 hours later to say that they would bring it late on in the day and would phone us at 4.30 to give us a time. Guess what ---- no call, no bed and shop closed and gone home. Do not buy from these idiots, read the real reviews ( the others are all aunties and cousins) Tomorrow we are going back to demand ( and get ) our money back or do some serious mischief

Been very happily buying furniture here for more than 30 years, but not been for quite a while now. Went in last week to buy new mattress and headboard and 4 dining chairs, with deposit paid and delivery arranged for Tuesday a.m. this week. Wife called in on Monday to pay the balance, to be told they would not be delivering on agreed morning as they had a container to unload. I phoned to ask why they were not keeping their word, to be asked snottily if I expected them to cancel the container. To be honest I couldn't give a damn about their container when they were breaking their promise. So they brought the mattress and headboard, but it's now Thursday evening and still no dining chairs. They promised to phone about them, but yet again they did not. Just liars.

FANCIED REPLACING MY EXISTING IKEA GLASS TV STAND, AND, AFTER LOOKING ROUND THE SHOPS, SAW ONE ON PAUL ANTHONY'S WEBSITE WHICH WAS THE RIGHT COLOUR AND SIZE FOR MY ROOM. ORDERED IT & IT ARRIVED YESTERDAY. I'M WELL CHUFFED WITH IT AS IT IS EXTREMELY WELL MADE AND COMPETITIVELY PRICED. GOOD PURCHASE - THANKS.

I bought an item from this firm, and it arrived damaged. After contacting the company, they said they would collect the item and refund me. After 3 months nothing happened. I contacted them on numerous occasions, and they promised to pick the item up. Again nothing happened. I then sent them a letter to explain I was arranging collection myself, and would want a refund on the courier cost. They rejected paying for the whole courier price, and would only pay £25 towards the cost. I did receive a refund but minus the full cost in having to arrange a collection, plus it has taken 3 months for all this to happen. This not a company I would ever recommend to anyone.

Poor Quality, Poor Value

We bought a chest of drawers for decent money. The original set were delivered and had numerous faults. Waited and chased them for 2 weeks for replacements and these to have faults. They are charging ready assembled furniture money for glorified flat pack furniture. Please consider before you buy. Flat pack from Ikea is a much better deal!! You have been warned.

I bought a bed from Paul Anthony a few weeks ago. It is a brilliant bed which was delivered exactly when requested and, as mentioned in another review, was put together and the packaging was removed. The delivery lads were very polite, friendly and efficient. I am very pleased with my purchase which I made after taking advice from the staff. It is very good value for money. The goods they sell are not cheap but they are very good prices for the quality. If you are unsure ignore the building and look inside - you will be pleasantly surprised.

Great Price, Great Service - Don't know what the fuss is about

I don't normally write reviews but I've recently been to Paul Anthony Furnishings and spent quite a bit of money on carpets and furniture. Everything was perfect!!! They fitted Karndean flooring throughout my kitchen & dining room and we had a solid oak dining table with leather chairs and a large sideboard to match. The fitter Mike was lovely and couldn't do enough to make sure the floor was perfect and exactly how we wanted it. When he finished he called the shop to let them know he'd finished and they delivered the furniture. They assembled the table and chairs and put everything in It's place. One of their guys, Matthew, even noticed a mark in one of the chairs and, after to speaking with someone in the shop, arranged to have it exchanged. I could use the damaged one until it was exchanged and that was done within a couple of days. Can't really ask for more. Oh, and I saved over a £1,000 compared to everywhere else I went.

I went into Paul Anthony's showroom a few weeks ago and ordered two bedroom carpets, and two, two-seater leather suites at £400 each. The carpets were being fitted the morning of 17th Sept 09, and the suite was being delivered in the afternoon. Carpets came, fitted - good job done. Then my wife was told that the suite would not be delivered because it had not yet arrived from Leeds, and that he did not want to send the suite on display. He then arranged for the afternoon of the next day for the suite to be delivered. Bear in mind that we currently live 30 miles away. By 3pm Friday still no sign of the suite so I called Jonathan only to be told that again the 'new' suite had still not arrived. He now promised Monday. Our daughter volunteered to wait in to take delivery. Yes it turned up this time but my daughter queried the fact that there was no wrapping that you would expect to see on a brand new suite. She was told by the driver that they had removed the bubble-wrap inside the van before bringing up to the flat. A friend of my daughter went outside to check the van and guess what - no bubble wrap. On closer inspection numerous points of damage were discovered to the back of the suite and the side, and evidence of sun damage. It would seem after all that they sent the suite previously on display. After calling me I told her to reject the suite. Please read this review before committing yourself to purchasing anything from Paul Anthony Furnishings. Need to try and get my money back now!

I feel compelled to write a review, in the hopes that any prospective customers might read this before deciding to buy furniture from this retailer. I have given the company notice that I intended to post a review on the web but have had no response. We saw 2 leather sofas for sale on e bay and thought they were a bargain. They were leather sofas currently on sale in DFS. Paul Anthony were selling them at a much reduced price. I contacted them at their store and not through ebay. I asked them if the sofas in question were seconds and was told they were in perfect condition. They arrived fairly promptly. I was concerned, however, when they were being taken out of the delivery van. There were several other heavy pieces of furniture on top and around the sofas. I thought the man was being rather heavy handed and so inspected the sofas carefully once they were inside the house. I noticed straight away that there was a large dent to the back seam of one of the sofas. I pointed this out to the man. He made a phone call to Paul Anthony's and then said he could repair it. He applied something to the mark and said that it would be fine in a few hours. I wasn't happy with this and made a note on the delivery note. I spoke to one of the directors who said they would replace the sofa in the next couple of weeks. Two weeks went by and as I hadn't heard anything, I phoned to be told that the sofa would be replaced as soon as they had another delivery in my area. I continued to email and phone over the next few weeks and was fobbed off each time with excuses. The last time I phoned, I was assured that they would look into my complaint and would get back to me later that day. I heard nothing and still haven't! I sent an email saying that I would be posting a negative review and still heard nothing. Obviously they don't feel that it is important. So my advice to anyone contemplating making a purchase from Paul Anthomy Furnishings, is quite simply...don't!
