Great food, great service and great atmosphere

Pauls is a real gem in a quaint little village tucked off the A52 between Nottingham and Grantham. Well worth the slight detour as the food is superb. Had booked a girlie catch-up lunch and when we arrived we were offered seating in the lovely restaurant or the cosier wine bar. We chose the wine bar simply because we fell in love with the decor (well we are girls!). The food was gorgeous - I can highly recommend the chicken liver pate and the tempura prawns - don't get me started on the pudding (too yummy for words). Service was second to none, friendly, helpful and no desperate rushing to get us fed & out of the door in record time. We had a leisurely lunch and are booked again in three weeks. Seriously good food in a lovely location. Enjoy!

My husband and I are lucky enough to live just a 10 minute walk from Paul's and we regularly visit as the food is always spot on and the prices reasonable for the quality of food on offer. On arrival you are guided through to the lounge area, with complimentary olives and japanese cracker mix on each table. When sat at your table, a basket containing various fresh breads and butter (plain and herby) is there waiting for you and there's always just the right amount of time between courses. The staff are friendly and efficient, the wine list is extensive and the food consistently fantastic. The menu changes every six weeks or so, so we never tire of it. They've recently opened a small wine lounge around the back of the restaurant which serves tasty bar food at great prices, plus the full restaurant menu, which is a great place to meet with friends for a drink and some nibbles.

Simply the best

We visited Pauls for Valentine's lunch after a gap of 3 years - we live 25 miles away. From start to finish the meal was simply excellent. The service could not have been bettered in a Micheline star restaurant - just the right amount of time over the pre-lunch drink, the bubbly ready with a selection of delicious bread when we arrived at our table and just the right gap between courses for lunchtime. The 3-course lunch for £16.50 is amazingly good value for money and, more importantly, thoroughly mouthwatering from start to finish. Disappointingly, the chef would not divulge the recipe for ham-hock and fois gras terrine or the sauce on the Baramundy main course - but we weren't surprised!! Both, like the rest of the meal were unbeatable. Pauls is without doubt the best reataurant within 25 miles of Sleaford - and that includes the whole of Lincoln. We will be back there before long. i headed over to pauls last night with my family, as my parents have been before and loved it. we were warmly welcomed before heading to the smaller of the three lounges to have a drink, snacks and to peruse the menus. the menu was fantastically written with so many tasty options. i opted for the blackpudding as a starter and the pork and Jambalaya for main. both were presented beautifully and tasted incredible. for dessert i had a home made tart and ice cream, (very nice but im not really a pudding man.) the staff were lovely and the restaurant itself plush but understated. the only thing i would look to improve is a better variety of bottle lagers as paul's do not have lager on tap e.g. proof, peroni etc.. and there wasn't anything with chocolate in for dessert, but i really am nit picking!! Pauls blows cafe bleu out of the water!!

Pauls was recomended to us by some work colleagues and we are so glad we decided to give it a go. When we arrived, it was very easy to let the outside deceive as to what lay beyond the doors. Inside, the restuarant is beautifally dressed, with a modern but welcoming feel. The staff were all friendly and we felt very welcome and relaxed. On to the important bit then. FOOD! What can we say??? Being chefs ourselves we tend to look for a high standard when eating out, and we need not look any further than pauls!! The menu was varied, the only problem being we wanted to try everything on it! The food was fabulous! Fantastic presentation, and tasted divine! Veg all cooked to perfection. All food is cooked to order and all the deserts are home made! No Brake bros bought in rubbish here! price wise, there is a set 3 course menu for around 15--20 pound (EXCELLENT value!) but we decided to choose from the a la carte. Dinner for 2 including drinks and a bottle of wine came to £75! Not bad for and evening of wonderful food! We cant put our recommendation forward strongly enough! Try it, even if you only go once, it we well worth it!
