Pen y Cae Self Catering Cottage

Pen y Cae is a lovely 4 star graded self catering property that sleeps upto 12 people in very spacious accommodation. The cottage, an old farm barn conversion, includes five bedrooms and three bathrooms and is mainly on one level, set in very large peaceful grounds. Ideally located just one mile outside the seaside town of New Quay and a 10 minute walk to the Cardigan Bay coastal path. Also only a pleasant 10 minute walk to the local pub (Penrhiwllan Inn) at the end of the lane which serves a large selection of great food and drink.

Prices for the cottage are all inclusive including electricity, oil, and bed linens. Well behaved pets are welcome.

Rooms

Large sitting room with a wood burner stove (logs available for purchase) set in an Inglenook fireplace, T.V with digibox, DVD player, CD/Stereo. This is a dual aspect room with French doors to the back garden and an arched window overlooking part of the front garden. The room features beamed ceilings and a wooden open tread staircase to above double bedroom.

Huge Kitchen/diner with high vaulted ceiling and original welsh slate slab floor. The kitchen includes an oil fired Rayburn cooker/boiler that provides hot water and central heating (oil included), additional gas cooker and dishwasher.

The dining area includes an old farmhouse table that easily seats 8+. A highchair is also provided.

Utility room off the kitchen/diner with fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer (coin operated) and microwave. Also provided are all the required pots, pans and cooking utensils.

Conservatory with breakfast table and chairs and wicker 2seater & single seater arm chairs. This room is a great spot for coffee and bird watching.

Main bathroom has a modern Showerbath, W.C and washbasin.

Large double room above lounge with en-suite bathroom including a Victorian style bath w.c. and washbasin.
NOTE: This room has low beams and sloping ceilings.

Second large double an airy room with dual aspect which gets the early morning or late evening sun.(access to family room through this room).

Twin room including 2 single beds.

Second twin room including 2 single beds.

Large family bedroom with double bed and high vaulted ceiling and mezzanine level with single bed and full size single pull out bed (steep staircase). This room also has its own ensuite bathroom and dedicated access door to the front of the cottage. A wooden cot is provided if required ,a camping cot and a put-u-up bed are also available on request.
NOTE: Access to the main house is through the second double bedroom.

Garden

The cottage has a very large peaceful garden, with 2 patios, gravelled areas and extensive lawns. There is a wildlife pond (low fenced) which is a lovely spot to watch dragonflies and birds (incl. Red Kites and Buzzards!). You will find Patio furniture, several wooden benches in the quiet spots and ample playing areas for children. An outside washing line is also provided by the conservatory as well as a BBQ on the patio.

From Synod Inn take A486 into New Quay. At speed signs and Penrhiwllan Inn public house turn left. Continue for one mile the cottage is the fifth property on right, opposite Ty Rhos farm. From Llanarth take the B4342 through Gilfachreda to New Quay, cont
