Pulse Light Clinic London was initially founded in 2000 as being one of the first solely rosacea treatment clinics by our Director Mary Maclean RGN.

The Pulse-Light Clinic in London is staffed exclusively by experienced medical professionals. We use a Doctor consultant and only qualified nurses who are highly skilled in Photo Rejuvenation IPL techniques. The core function of our clinical team is focused on the delivery of Photo Rejuvenation treatments, with special emphasis on skin improvement and dealing with skin imperfections. Our experience and expertise in Rosacea treatment is immense.

Sheila Maclean RGN, BTEC Advanced Skin Laser Technology

Sheila has over 20 years nursing experience as a qualified registered nurse working in the National Health Service and in Private Medicine. She was trained in alternative and complementary medicine and specialized in this field for a number of years. Her involvement in this area begot her interest in Intense Pulsed Light, a natural, non-ablative treatment for skin conditioning. During the last 8 years she has specialized exclusively in IPL treatments and in particular the condition of rosacea. She completed the BTEC advanced award in skin laser technology treatment and applications at the laser training and education centre in 2004. She has wide experience of various skin complaints and their treatment with IPL.
At the Pulse Light Clinic she specializes exclusively in Intense Pulsed Light (I.P.L.) treatment. This has given her a wide experience of various skin complaints and their treatment with I.P.L. She has developed a particular expertise in the treatment of rosacea and hyper-pigmentation and is very impressed by the results achieved by this technology. She feels she has a treatment solution that really works well across the full gamut of Rosacea and other skin complaints with so little risk or side effects.

About Us

Pulse Light Clinic is one of the most experienced Rosacea clinics in the UK. With our Luminus M22 IPL machine we deliver far more shots in a shorter amount of time than any other clinic. Unfortunately some clients do come to us having had unsuccessful treatments elsewhere, however we usually find they have had a 10 minute treatment with just one pass over the skin which is just not enough! We typically deliver 25-30 minute treatments using a multiple pass technique developed by Sheila. Our highly advanced machine is specific to vein removal (unlike most clinics that also use the same IPL machine for hair removal) and can reach far deeper in to the skin to hit more vessels than ever before possible, allowing us to provide clients with a focused and tailored treatment planAll our clients are advised on nutrition at their consultation, and those that seek more in depth help from our nutritionist Lisa Borg find their results are faster and more long term (with some clients even finding their Rosacea can go into remission)! Many clients find they have a genetic predisposition to over produce vessels, but through nutritional guidance also discover they have food sensitivities that can trigger them to flush, creating new vessels, which obviously causes more redness. Finding these triggers can make a massive difference to the speed of progress with IPL. Most clients like to have pictures taken of the treated area throughout the duration of their treatment plan to watch their progress. I find this is really helpful, and spurs clients in to making better life style choices whilst having treatments!

Lisa Borg Dip DCNH, Nutritional Therapist

Lisa is a qualified Nutritional Therapist. She has been practicing nutrition for 8 years across a broad spectrum of health conditions. She has a special interest in Rosacea, and her research, together with hands-on experience, led to the writing of her thesis entitled “The Nutritional Management of Rosacea". In recent years Lisa has widened her focus to include other inflammatory conditions too with some remarkable results that have great potential for Rosacea sufferers. She has developed a complete package to complement IPL treatment of the existing redness and broken vessels that includes specific combinations of dietary/lifestyle guidelines, supplements and herbal remedies to address the underlying causes of inflammation.
