Quebecs describes itself as a "4 star Luxury Boutique Hotel in Leeds" From the moment you mount the seven or eight steps leading into the hotel you can tell there is something a little different about this one.A small entrance area leads you to the reception desk underneath the winding staircase. I stayed at Quebecs twice in 2008, the first being the night before my wedding and having seen what the hotel had to offer, I knew that I had to return with my wife who would love it.I entered my room to the soothing sound of classical music on the radio. A spacious and well laid out 'Deluxe' room with a large on-suite bathroom. To me, a hotel room is simply somewhere to sleep at the end of a long day. The room at Quebecs made me want to stay, relax and enjoy my evening. Why a great review but only four stars? I didn't eat at Quebecs. I'd only give that extra star if the food was top-notch but without trying it, I just don't know. There is however a small case of the honesty bar. An exquisitely decorated Victorian drawing room with bottles of whiskey, brandy and the like. Serve yourself and write in the honesty book what you've had to drink so that it can be added to your room bill.Be aware though, some people have been disappointed with this hotel for one particular reason. It wasn't an issue to me and you shouldn't let it spoil your stay at a super location.. Quebecs is situated in the City Centre, on a medium-busy road. There are lots of cars and buses driving past and you can hear traffic noise from the rooms at the front of the hotel. It's also next door to a nightclub, meaning that you might hear the twitter of happy people in the early hours of a weekend morning - if you're not one of them and if the comfy bed hasn't placed you into a deep, nightlong coma.I found the overnight shoe-shine service to be an advantage, but a queue for checkout in the morning means you might not want to be in a rush! There are loads of other treats in store here which helped win acolades such as being voted in the top 50 British Hotels by the Independant, and one of the top 80 in the world by Conde Naste Traveller. http://www.theetoncollection.com/content.aspx?pageID=440
