A Great Traditional Shop
Having moved up from Essex, Norwich is great place with a great range of independent shops. I have recently discovered Thorns and it is a real gem. It has so many different DIY products, and the shop seems to go on and on. It is old fashioned and definitely quirky but more importantly the staff are very helpful and knowledgable. I had to visit their electrical department as I wanted to replace a light fitting, they were so friendly and helpful. Not like these bigger chains - keep up the good work!

Miserable, Rude and don't want their customers satisfied
My friend an elderly gent of Norwich recently bought a brass letterbox, although it measured the same size as his letterbox hole in his door it did not fit. Upon returning to the shop with him we found the staff were raising their eyes and looking at us with hostility as we were asking for either a replacement or a refund, they claimed the item could not been sold again, I disagreed with this and would have been happy for them to take a % off the amount. They were adamant that we would not get a refund and were quite rude to us and made us feel very uncomfortable. We won't be going back and we can understand why other people are going to the likes of Home base and small shops like this are shutting down. We did then go on to home base and bought another letter box and was assured that we could bring it back if it did not fit. Finally I would say Thorns are well past there sell by date.
