paid for a supposed tradesman my 2 year old grandson could have done better

I let this man into my property as he was recommended to me by a friend he quoted me for lounge hall and stairs.I accepted his quote and arranged a start date, all started well 3days in he asked for an advance payment to which i payed. He finished the lounge and did a good job I was pleased and settled the quote for the lounge.5 days later he started the hall and we decided to have it lined he quoted a revised price and we agreed it.after 2 days he went on holiday and said hed be back on tuesday ,he arrived at 8.30 and put one coat of emulsion on walls and ceiling and left at 4pm saying he was done and wanted the bill settled.I did raise my concerns as to the quality of the finish and he daubed paint on areas i pointed out. when i asked would he do another coat he replied it would cost another hundred pound and he was booked in for another job the next day so didnt know when he could fit it in.I paid him and when my husband arrived home from work he was furious with the finish and asked me to call the decorator to come and rectify the issues that were raised. He flatly refused and started shouting abuse and insults at me .after a week i rang him again and asked if hed reconsidered and again he refused without payment .ithen asked him why he had bought such large tins of paint if it only needed one coat.he didnt respond Ithen requested the tins of paint that i had paid for to complete the job myself. He said i could collect them from his house. All i can do is hope this reveiw will save someone else from being had over dont touch this man with a bargepole . Im sure like myself you have to work hard for your money this leaves a really bad taste in my mouth !!!
