Redcastle cottages has been running for 20 years now, we provide pet and child friendly accommodation! There are 4 properties...two 1 bedroomed apartments, either twin bedded or double, a 3 bedroomed or 2 bedroomed cottage.
Great for family parties, large groups of cyclists/walkers and golfers. We are 15 minutes walk from the River Urr and fishing is available in season. Redcastle dates back to the 14th century and Robert Burns wrote a poem about the then laird fighting or rather not fighting in the War of Independence. Surrounded by a lovely garden and peace and quiet apart from the birds..we also have a family of red squirrels! We3 are 15 minutes drive from the nearest beaches at Kippford and Sandyhills, castles at Threave Castle Douglas, access by a small boat and Caerlaverock outside Dumfries which also has a moat, but a small bridge at the entrance. Red kites can be seen and watched at feeding time on Loch Ken.
