I booked this for a wedding anniversary meal and got a confirmation by email. Then my baby boy went into hospital with dehydration and a viral stomach infection the day before we were due to go and eat. The email from the restaurant detailed the cancellation policy of £90 per person if you cancel. I called them to ask if they would waive that fee as I simply couldn't attend. They said the best they could do was charge me only £90 total if I rebooked for another date. I know some people would lie to get out of things like this, but it is something I could, and would be happy to prove. The next day my son was let out and we decided to go for the meal, even though we were both knackered and didn't feel up to it, and would rather be at home with our recovering baby. I'd rather sit there and eat it than give them £180 for doing nothing. In the event, the meal cost just a little more than this. The food was very good, I have to admit, but that aon't be the lasting memory I have from my experience at this restaurant. I understand they need to charge a cancellation fee, but I think it's a bit cheeky to ask for so much, and show no compassion for a difficult situation when it arises. It's left a bitter taste in my mouth, despite the wonderful food, and I will not be recommending it to any friends. Please change your policy Sat Bains, or get some compassion

We have been eating at Sat's for many years. His food is world class. He seems to extract so much flavour from the food he serves. After eating at Sat's you are spoiled for anywhere else. The rooms are also lovely, and have recently been redecorated under the supervision of Amanda, Sat's wife -good taste- The service is unobtrusive and generally good. Highly recommend it! Mairi Parker

Visited the hotel several times in the late 1990's as a venue for business meetings. Very impressive then hope to visit now again.
