We are based in Richmond, Surrey, and willing to travel to you if you are fairly local to us. Otherwise we can liaise over the phone or you can travel to our offices. Will Writing is not regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. 70% of the UK population do not have a valid Will. These are just a few reasons why it is important not to die intestate (without a will). The Court of Protection will decide what happens to your children. This may not necessarily be who you would have chosen yourself. If you lose the ability to make decisions for yourself during your lifetime, a complete stranger could be court-appointed appointed to make the decisions for you - even if your family knows what your wishes are. Loss of capacity could lead to bank accounts and investments being frozen - even those in joint names.

Therefore, a Lasting Power of Attorney is becoming equally as important as a will and is designed to protect you, and your family, in the event of an illness or accident that could take away your powers to undertake the normal day-to-day tasks.
