About Us

RISE Community Development Ltd was created back in April 2005 to serve the SO16 postcode area of Southampton.
RISE stands for Regeneration Inspired Social Enterprise.
Our mission is to help to educate, engage, empower and invigorate the residents of the Outer Shirley area of Southampton. We also strive to improve the social and economic opportunities for both individuals and the community as a whole, through a range of different mediums.
Our Board of Directors is entirely made up of local people, yet still contains a rich skill set, including experience and/or professional qualifications in youth and community work, carers and Disabled People's issues, IT, Finance, Education, Project Management and Premises Management.
In April 2014 we took on the lease of a Council owned building that is ideally situated for community visibility and ease of access for our potential beneficiaries. Our centre consists of a large foyer and a number of meeting and training rooms.
In January 2015 we changed the company name to a CIC. This was purely a name change and our mission has stayed the same. We decided that the change to a CIC would make it easier to understand the core of what we want to do as a company for the community.
