The Rising Sun is ideally situated in London with great transport links to central London, Heathrow airport and Wembley stadium. The hotel offers a friendly and cosy atmosphere in both the bar and restaurant. Located close to the A40 and 2 minutes from Sudbury Hill tube station and right opposite Sudbury Hill mainline station, central London is easily accessible.
Paid nearly £50 on the internet for a double room, no breakfast for one night. The room was dirty! Dust on the skirting, sockets, picture frame, hairdryer, mirror etc. Some paper had stuck to the bedside cabinet and had been left there. The curtains were hanging off the rail but was so high up we could not pop them on the hook. The room faced out to the main road so got the loud traffic all night and there was a halogen light shining into the room all night. There was no kettle or cup and saucer and there was only three pillows on the bed. There was dust on the floor in the bathroom and on the towel radiator rungs, there was hair in the bath plughole and a pubic hair on the tiles next to the toilet. The bathroom tiles had never been polished. I had to ask twice for the kettle etc to arrive and eventually got them at 12.45am. There was two drunk men that made me uneasy in the bar as they were obviously drinking into the night. Room was very small and I felt cold although the radiator was warm. Bed was lumpy. The good thing was the sheets and pillowcases were clean.

Booked a double ensiute room for 28/05/2011 for the football match. I'm an regular user for this hotel for the past 2 yrs. Since then they improved a lot in all areas. Especially after refurbishment, it is quite nice to be there. Nice room facility, internet etc. Room, bathroom are cleaned properly. If i request for any service, the staff are really helpful and kind. Not only the hotels but also the restaurant food is really nice and tasty too. Prices are normal. One suggestion- As bar is opened 24 hrs for hotel guests, the same way restaurant also should be opened as like.

I have never stayed in a more unpleasant and uncomfortable hotel. I booked 2 twin rooms for me and a few mates when we got there they informed us that only one was twin and only one had on suite facilities. Despite paying for the rooms in advance they could not amend there error. The rooms where dirty and smelly. The bath and sink had scum marks around the pug holes. the mattress was lumpy and the springs where showing through. My Advice to anyone thinking of staying at the rising sun is DONT. It's shockingly bad.

Booked a family room, got a room with a bunkbed with mattress's that didnt fit, a fridge that leaked, cups and milk but no kettle, windows that didnt shut and that had bars on them, curtains that weren't big enough for the window, a tv with an indoor aerial, that i had to tune in, no chair in the room, no rubbish bin, the room had no smoke detector, an escape route map on the door which was wrong, a door outsde the room that slammed shut everytime someone went through it. Very badly decorated, no lamp shade just a bare bulb hanging. The toilet had a seat that wasn't fixed, the restaurant only served indian food, not a problem if they were to tell you prior to your arival. The bathroom can only be described as unclean. No trouser press or hair dryer as described. My bed was comfy. Left first thing in the morning, at no point did the staff ask if everything was ok. Felt robbed.
