Just returned from having a Sunday evening meal at this traditional and typical Italian style restaurant, decor in keeping with it's Italian heritage but also reflecting it's close proximaty to the nearby Theatre. Service was excellent, prompt, attentive and informative and the food matched the service, a good choice menu nicely presented to the table and tasting as good as it looked

I remember when i first saw Roberto's and always wanted to go there. It just looked a cool little place to go.My dads girlfriend wanted to try out an italian place and so i said lets go to Roberto's. We went on a wednesday and they have a special offer on all night. The offer was a two course meal at £8.25 where you pick from a selected menu or a three course meal at £12.25 where you pick a starter, any 10" pizza or any pasta dish and a dessert from a selected menu. The offer is also available on every other day as well but it is called "pre theatre meal" and the offer lasts between 6-7pm. but like i say on a wednesday this applies all night.my dad and sue had the two course and i had the 3 course :) for starters we had garlic bread and two dishes of garlic mushrooms, they were the best mushrooms i had ever tasted i definately recommend you try them.the pasta dishes were loverly and my pizza (all meat pizza) was wicked. i was the only person having dessert and from the list there seemed to be basic and unexciting but i couldnt be more wrong. I choose the homemade raspberry cheese cake. When it came out it looked amazing and tatsed even better. it was the best cheese cake i had ever had, truly delicious! The place looked a nice place and the service was good. make sure you book a table though as it is a popular place.will be going again.5 stars from me.

My husband and I visited for the first time on a sat night with our 2 kids. The staff were really pleasant and attentive. We had starters of various breads, garlic & cheese, Bruscheta, gorganzola, Focachia and unfortunatley all were pretty substandard. They were luke warm and the gorganzola was like cellophane as it had gone so cold, ah well hopefully the main course would be better......wrong!! I had pasta carbonara which was dry, my sons pepperoni pizza was swimming in oil and my daughters macaroni cheese was just bland, my kids eat out with us frequently and enjoy calves liver, mussels, tapas, chinese etc but they really did not enjoy this, hence we didnt bother with a desert or coffee. We were seated upstairs where there was a huge flt screen tv on the wall showing.........a view of downstairs diners, not sure what that was about. Celeb pics on the wall? Little & large!!!!!Really disappointed, wont be recommending or re-visiting again.
