Ruby Shoes - Where everyone gets the chance to shine

Ruby Shoes was created with the intention of bringing dance, theatre, art and performance together, making them fun, accessible and free from prejudice or politics.

At Ruby Shoes everyone is welcome, from beginners and people just wanting to stay fit, to those who want to make a break into the world of competition, performance and live art. The aim at Ruby Shoes is for everyone who passes through the doors to become a dancer, regardless of ability, and to have heaps of fun doing it!


RUBY SHOES DISCIPLINES

Latin American
A fun, funky, creative dance form, with styles from Cuba, Brazil and
Spain. Bring a partner or come alone, there's something for everyone!

Ballroom
An elegant, stylish, difficult dance form but an extremely rewarding one;
you will be able to glide with effortless ease around a ballroom after a few lessons of this form.

Showdance
An advanced, performance-focused version of the Ballroom and Latin
disciplines. Having a partner is preferable for this class, however soloists
are still very welcome.

Freestyle
Loose, individual interpretation of a routine. We teach you the routine,
you jazz it up with your own sense of flare!

Street
A tougher version of Freestyle; the routines are phrased to specific pieces of music. The perfect class for dancers with attitude.

Latin Fitness & Latin Line Dance
If you like Zumba you'll love this class, where we combine latin moves
with aerobic exercise. The routines are simple but designed to tone and
burn the fat from specific areas of your body. Bring your sweat bands!

Charleston
There is only one way to describe this class: fun! Here we resurrect the
swinging, flapping, pre-jive fun of the twenties. You'll have a great time
bouncing around to big band music, while burning a ton of energy!

Body Conditioning
This class looks at core stability and the toning and strengthening of key
muscles. The work done in this class will support and benefit any Ruby Shoes discipline that you choose to concentrate on.

Wedding Dance
For the bride and groom who want their first wedding dance to be more
than just a mooch around the dance floor, we can work with you to create something unique and personal to you.

Ruby Shoes is a strictly equal opportunities school. We treat each dancer as an individual, and make sure that they are supported and nurtured at every stage of their development.

We encourage the parents of young dancers to attend regular feedback and development sessions, so that the children's progress can be openly discussed and realistic targets can be set for them. If a dancer is struggling or wants to be pushed harder we are able to offer private tuition in order to support them on a 1:1 basis.
