The very worst customer service!

I found a car for sale with this company on eBay and it seemed good value for money. After taking it out for a test drive I decided to get a loan out to buy the vehicle as SC motors would not offer a part ex on my car. I had put a deposit down on the car and then asked a friend (who is a mechanic)to inspect the vehicle for me as I have limited knowledge of motor mechanics and have unknowingly brought a car with problems in the past. When my friend had come to inspect the vehicle he noted that there was oil that had sprayed on the engine, he believed that this could have been a loose pipe or more worryingly a faulty turbo. The salesman became very rude and aggressive towards my friend to the point where he chose not to complete the inspection, due to the owners aggressive attitude. The owner called me later that day following the inspection to say he had checked the car over and could find not fault, but would offer me a months warranty to cover any major mechanical faults that might arise. This made me feel better about the deal and felt I was getting a bargain with assurances. After this I contacted trading standards who advised me to make a record of the conversation I had with the owner, listing any agreements that had been made and get both myself and the owner to date and sign this on the date of sale. When my partner and myself went to purchase the vehicle I produced a record of our telephone conversation and the owner of SC Motors said "I'm not fucking signing that" and got out of his chair slammed his hands on the table and became very threatening towards my girlfriend and myself. He continued to be aggressive and swear despite the fact that I had told him this was on the advice of trading standards and only simply stated what he had agreed on the phone. He told me that everything was in black and white in his warranty agreement, which was a piece of paper with no legal agreement written into it that could have been wrote up on Microsoft word in under a minute. Needless to say I did not purchase the vehicle from this rude, obnoxious and generally vile used car salesman. When I said I would not be buying the car as I did not like the way I was being spoke to he said that I wouldn't get my £250 deposit back. When I calmly walked away saying that's not a problem, but I shall be contacting trading standards again he soon changed his tune and put the money in my account. I have personally never experienced such a poor level of customer service or felt threatened by someone I was going to spend money with before, until I encountered SC Motors. I would urge anybody looking to buy a vehicle from them to be very careful indeed, I think I got away lucky by not buying from them. I later spent my money with a reputable dealer in Derby (Bristol St Motors) who offered me a part exchange, a great deal and so far the after sale service has been brilliant!
