Unprofessional and Rude

The guy arrived to service our boiler and we made polite conversation. It was running fine most of the time, although it had been producing some black soot, but we still had heating and hot water. He was swearing whilst he worked as he struggled to get to certain areas of the boiler but as the language was not directed at me, I dismissed this as unprofessional. He then pulled one of the boiler parts to pieces in front of me, showing me where the damage was. I asked if that would still work and his response was "not now, it won't!" He then explained to me he would have to go and get a part from Inverness (an hour round trip) and he would be back later. He returned later to tell me he couldn't get the part and we would have no hot water or heating for 5 days. When I confronted him and said that he should not have broken the part up unless he knew he was able to get another today, and that we had hot water and heating before he started fiddling with it, therefore he shouldn't leave us without it, he swore at me and then walked back to his car shouting. I told him I would report him, and he told me to "go and get on with it." Can honestly say have never dealt with a workman like him, and I am furious about the whole situation. My landlord proceeded to contact him after I explained to her what had happened, and he was apparently equally abusive to her over the phone. Would most definitely NOT recommend this man. What a cowboy.
