About

Maths, Physics, Chemistry, 11plus Tutor in Central London - Kensington, Chelsea, St John's Wood

Bespoke private tuition services for Common Entrance, GCSE and A-Level Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Economics.

BIOGRAPHY

I am currently studying Theoretical Physics at Imperial College London. My research interests include Topological Quantum Field Theories and Superstring Theory. Additionally I have a lot of interest in Analytic Number Theory and Galois Theory. I am thoroughly enjoying my degree and the tutoring that I do alongside it.

I had a very interesting upbringing. I have grown up playing with numbers and experimenting with anything I could get my hands on. I have always been very inquisitive and eager to learn about the world around me.

O Levels - 12 A*s including Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

I had the Highest Marks in the World for O Level Statistics for which I received both National and International recognition/awards.

A Levels - 6 A*s and 3 As including Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

I also had 2 AS Level subjects and achieved As in both.

I was also ranked the Top student in the Country for the AS Level exams and managed the highest aggregate score among all the candidates that took the exam.

PERSONAL APPROACH

I believe that teaching is most effective when it takes the form of a discussion where ideas are shared and enquiries addressed.

My aim always is to instill a conceptual understanding in all my students. Asking questions is the most important part of the learning process in my opinion. Learning should be a two-way exchange of ideas and I ensure that this is always the case during my lessons.

I tailor my teaching methods to each individual's needs. My goal always is to present the concepts in the most simplified form while maintaining the interesting details.

I understand that process of examinations is difficult and unnerving. Often students perform badly not because of a lack in ability but due to a lack of confidence. I ensure that my students have full confidence in themselves and their ability. It is often easiest if students learn to enjoy their academics and the process of acquiring such fascinating knowledge and I am always there to make it happen. My aim is not just to prepare my students for exams, but to make them appreciate the richness of the subject and enjoy the subject content so that they approach it with enthusiasm and take with them not just fantastic grades but a greater sense of intellectual fulfillment.

EXPERIENCE

I have over 4 years of tutoring experience. I started intensive tutoring during the first year of university and have continued doing so ever since. I have tutored several students independently and through several of London's top tutoring agencies.

I have extensively taught GCSE, A Level, IB and Pre-U Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Almost all my students have demonstrated noticeable improvement and have gone on to achieve their desired results. Several of my students managed to improve their grade by 1 level or more.

During the past academic year alone, I tutored 14 students for GCSE and A Level exams in January. 8 succeeded in achieving A*s and 3 got As. For the summer exams, I had 19 students taking GCSE and A Level exams. 11 of them achieved A*s and 4 got As. 5 of the students are now at Cambridge, 2 at Oxford, 1 at Stanford and 1 at Princeton. Several others also managed to secure offers from universities of their choice.

I do extensive work in preparing students for 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ Common Entrance to several top schools including Eton, St. Paul's School, Sevenoaks and Westminster. I prepared 12 students for Common Entrance Examinations. 2 secured a place at Eaton, 3 at St. Paul's, 1 at Westminster and 1 at Sevenoaks.

I also had two students who were from the Saudi Royal family. I taught them Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry during their Foundation Year at university. They both passed all their courses with flying colours.

I frequently tutor Business Studies and Economics. I have taught these subjects at GCSE and A Level to large groups of students at schools as well as to several students one-one.

I also tutor for the SAT I General Test and SAT II subject tests including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

I have also tutored students with learning difficulties including Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and ADD/ADHD. I have always insisted that most students with learning difficulties often end up doing better than their contemporaries given proper guidance and help since they are a lot more eager to learn and prove their skill. What is required is a patient and empathetic approach.
