My name is Lesley, I first started dog grooming 5 years ago after I became dissatisfied with how my Rottweiler Alfie was groomed. He would come back from the groomers still damp and smelling of wet dog, so I decided I would learn how to do it myself.
I went to college and gained my qualifications, Levels 2 and 3 in dog grooming and proceeded to work from my home. Almost immediately I was offered a job as manager of a grooming parlour, but yet again I became unhappy at how the establishment was run. I decided to begin my own groomers, leading me to open Scruffs to Crufts @ The Grooming Room.
So now I get to offer dogs and owners the experience and groom they both deserve, working on a one to one basis to ensure that your dog receives the best possible experience from start to finish. I can offer flexible opening hours with weekends and late night appointments available on request.

I feel I must write a review to show how grateful we are to Karl and the whole team at St Leonard vet centre. We rang for advise when our 5 year old standard poodle Shula started bleeding out of season. We were asked to bring her in immediately as they suspected pyometra which is fatal. Karl explained that it was an infection of the uterus and she needed to be spayed quickly. We had never got round to having her spayed, and feel terrible that we risked this on her. She recovered quickly after the operation and was soon back to herself again. Thanks to Karl and the team. More recently we left our cat Tinks at the meow hotel catery. It is so nice, she purred her way round and looked quite happy as we left her. It was very reassuring that she was safe and well looked after. Thank you

Having our dogs under the care of Saint Leonards for the last 7 years, we have always found their care of our dogs and us as anxious 'parents' second to none for the usual annual boosters and general check ups. Recently when our 5yr old Great Dane Sachait, fell gravely ill with the life threatening condition gastric torsion Karl and all the nursing staff surpassed all our expectations in care, commitment and compassion. The skill that was shown during her major surgery was exemplary. Sadly when the condition returned 4 months later it was too much for her but again their compassion, sensitivity and support showed they genuinely cared and shared our loss and it is very comforting to see Sachait on Karls business cards. We wouldnt trust the care of our other Great Dane Bram and Irish Wolfhound Harker to anybody else and it is nice to have this opportunity to say how much we appreciate all that they have done for us. Thank you!

Hi everyone I'm Kaspar, an eight year old British Blue cat. In August Karl operated on me because I had a blocked Mega-colon. I was in so much pain, I thought I was going to die. Mum was very worried about me but she was kept informed of my progress during the day. Karl did a great job, and me, well Ive had a whole new lease of life!! Things couldnt have been better until 5 weeks later I got an infection in my paw. It was so bad I had to have a toe amputated. I had to come back 3 times a week to have the dressing changed. Everyone was so good to me during that time and on one occasion I was even picked up from my house because my mum couldnt arrange transport. Once again I am now fine thanks to Karl and the team. As nice as they are though, I hope I dont see them again for a while! Thanks again guys. Kaspar (and mum)

Myself and my parents sadly had to recently say goodbye to our old cat Toby, the service and care we received from James was absolutely brilliant. He made us feel at ease and took good care of our old boy in his last moments. Massive thank you to James and the whole team for always providing excellent care for our pets.

We can only echo all the positive comments already posted. We recently had to have our elderly border collie, Jodie, put to sleep and Karl and Maraide were v compassionate to us in our distress whilst giving us confidence that we were doing the right thing. Our other dog, Cassie, gets v nervous when in the surgery and tries to bite all the vets! However, they are all v patient and understanding and handle her brilliantly. Our dogs have had excellent treatment over the years with thorough after care and even phone calls home to check on their progress. All the team are friendly and v caring. Our new puppy is now registered here - we wouldn't think of going anywhere else.
