Good Fish
Based at the bottom of town in the heart of Fordington this Fish and Chip shop has the reputation of being the best in Dorchester. Can't say that I agree totally with this as others have said the quality of the food is not what it used to be. Good choice of food from Fish, Pies, and Sausages which is an average price for the area and the portion sizes are generally larger than average. The Staff are always friendly and it is always busy with a loyal customer base.Great for a late night snack on the way home!

San telmo had the reputation as teh best fish and chip shop in Dorchester for years. Unfortunatly it seems to have slipped in recent years. Serving a varied menu and with fast service, San Telmo is a ggood choice for a quick no hastle dinner (or lunch!) However, the chips tend to be slightly overcooked and very dark brown in colour. It's a shame the chips are not very good, as the rest of the food is perfectly reasonable - The curry sauce is outstanding. Reasonably priced, with good service and always busy - they must be doing something right after so many years as a succesful fish and chip shop!
