Just went to the Satay with a group of friends. Was a bit of an oasis amongst Brixton. The food was delicious, the cocktails were er... strong and tasty and the staff were really friendly and attentive. What more could you ask for? We had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The Friday night we went was packed so I would recommend booking. I am not sure about the comment below about it being a nightclub. There were no deejays and the music was in the background rather than pumping. The stencil work in and outside was very cool too, a bit Banksy'ish. Would definitely return.

This is a brilliant place to go before going out in Brixton. They do indonesian food really well - I went with my indonesian friend and she told me it was really authentic...a good sign! The restaurant is fairly dark and it does feel like you're eating in a nightclub but it's also funky, intimate and trendy at the same time. They have a bar aswell which has the usual drinks and cocktails at moderate prices. The best meal I've had there is a dish called cumi cumi (yes I know...) It's squid stuffed with coconut rice and covered in yummy thai curry with a mix of vegetables. Sadly, it's not on the menu anymore :( Dishes are cheap and sometimes they have an early dinner deal making it even more good value. I would definitely book for weekends but it's usually okay to wander in mid-week. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
