About us

Our objective is to provide our clients with advice tailored to their particular requirements. We are proud to say that not only does our list of clients extend to the individual, families and businesses but also to the provision of financial services to other professionals.

The Financial Services Act 1986 introduced the legislation under which we operate and the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 now sets out the disciplines required by independent financial advisers. We have been authorised since the date of operation of the Financial Services Act 1986 and will continue to be so in the belief that independence is the only means of achieving the "best advice" for our clients.

The company was established in 1975. Over the years it has achieved steady growth and enjoys a reputation for sound professional advice in all matters relating to financial services.

Independence is a quality which is looked for in all advisers but is particularly relevant if "best advice" is to be obtained.

Funeral Plans

Funeral costs are going up every year. Nobody wants their family to face money worries in the future. As agents for Golden Charter, we can arrange a pre-paid funeral plan which will mean that your funeral director's costs are guaranteed to be taken care of, with nothing more to pay for their services. These plans fully guarantee the funeral director's services within the plan and include an allowance towards the fees for burial or cremation and, where applicable, the recommended payments to doctors or officiants.

As part of our holistic approach to financial planning we look to review all our clients' arrangements, including managing potential Inheritance Tax liabilities through use of Trusts and other estate planning tools.

General Insurance

Often people have their home contents and buildings insurance through the bank and just as often this is not the most competitive premium. We would love the opportunity to quote on your home contents and/or buildings insurance, just contact us when your renewal is due and we'll do our best to get you a good deal. If you own a property which you rent out we can also quote for Landlord's insurance.

We can also quote on travel insurance, both individual and multi-trip.

For the business person we are happy to quote on Employer's and Public Liability, Group Travel, commercial Combined, Shop and Office, Contractors All Risk and Motor Fleet policies. In fact, if you don't see what you need, contact us anyway as we may still be able to get you cover.
