FACIAL TREATMENTS

Looking great can have a huge impact on your confidence, success and general wellbeing. That's why we offer the latest facial aesthetic treatments in addition to our cosmetic dentistry. These treatments help soften expression lines and define facial contours, making you appear younger and more vibrant.
We at Midlands Smile Centre offer Botox and fillers at very competitive prices. Treatment conducted by our in house facial surgeon.

DENTAL IMPLANT

If you have a missing tooth there are a number of options open to you. You can live with a hole in your smile or bite. Many people are not content to do this as it can lead to a loss of self confidence or just make eating difficult, painful or even impossible. Leaving a gap also weakens the surrounding teeth. The sides of teeth become exposed and placed under more load when eating. If these teeth have already been weekend with fillings it can lead to teeth breaking on hard food types. The most cost effective treatment for a single missing tooth is to have a bridge fitted. The brige is attached to surrounding teeth and will cover any hole in your smile or bite. However this does mean damaging those teeth and can only be used for some missing teeth.
A dental implant is a titanium metal rod which is placed into the jawbone. It is used to support one or more false teeth. In practice both the false teeth and their supporting rod are known as “dental implants". A dental implant has the advantage of not damaging surrounding teeth and being versatile enough to replace any missing tooth which has a healthy gum below. Midlands Smile Centre have one of the most highly regarded dental implant specialists in Birmingham, with over 25 years experience. Our specialist will make sure that there is the best chance of success for your dental implant procedure. At the Midlands Smile Centre we believe cost should not be a factor that stops a person from having a healthy smile, so we offer some of the best value Dental Implants in Birmingham and provide further discounts to our smile plan customers. You can book a free consultation today and take advantage of both our expertise and excellent value pricing.

GENERAL DENTISTRY

Midlands Smile Centres provide Emergency Dental treatment across Birmingham. Just like a Dental Hospital we can be contacted 24 hours per day, every day of the year. You do not need to be a patient of Midlands Smile Centres to access our emergency dental treatment service.
When you have a dental emergency it's important to see a dentist quickly. Seeing a dentist promptly increases the success rate of treatment and will resolve problems with toothache sooner. By having practices across Birmingham we are often closer to patients than the Dental Hospital, as well as many other dentists offering Emergency Dental treatment. Typically we will be able to attend to your problem faster than a Dental Hospital*.
Often there is little warning that dental problems are developing, sometimes the warning signs are missed during the day as low levels of pain are not noticeable. If pain killers are not providing the relief needed Midlands Smile Centres can be contacted on our emergency treatment number 07920 815 961. This number is also found on our out of hours voice mail message. If it's possible to do so we will arrange for treatment to occur at your closest Midlands Smile Centre practice. If this isn't possible the Selly Oak and Kings Heath Midlands Smile Centres are normally staffed by our emergency dentists.
If you have any of the following problems you should contact us right away
•Tooth Ache which has continued for more than 30 minutes after taking pain relief, cleaning and flossing between teeth.
•A lump on your gum line next to the root of your teeth, this may be an abscess. Untreated this will lead to tooth loss
•A broken tooth or broken filling. Untreated this can lead to further tooth or filling damage and eventually tooth loss.
•A broken crown. Untreated this can result in untreatable decay to the root of the tooth, abscesses and eventually tooth loss.
•A tooth which has been knocked out. Sometimes teeth witch have been dislodged can be reinserted. If you still have the tooth, place it in a sealed container filled with milk and bring it with you. Do not clean or wash the tooth, this will reduce the likelihood it can be reinserted. If the tooth is dirty the milk will help to clean it without damaging the tissue. A dentist will be able to clean off any remaining dirt.
•A lost tooth. Even if you have lost the tooth a dentist should attend to the wound left in your gums, if this becomes infected it can result in abscessed and other complications. This is especially important if you intend to have a Dental Implant.
•A partially dislodged or loose adult tooth. Try to avoid touching the tooth, unless preventing it from falling out. Even then try to support the tooth rather than apply pressure to keep it in place. A dentist may be able to reinsert it into it's original location, this is incredibly difficult to do correctly unless you are a trained dentist.
You do not need to be register or have previously been a patient of Midlands Smile Centres to access our emergency dental treatment service.

Inlays

Inlays and onlays are used when a cavity is large but the surrounding tooth is healthy. Instead of reducing the healthy tooth to fit a crown, an inlay sits in the hole in the tooth and an onlay can replace the cusp of a tooth which maintains the shape of the tooth. Inlays are generally made out of porcelain which is tooth coloured but they can be made out of gold or resin.

Oral Surgery (Extractions)

A dental extraction is the removal of a tooth from the mouth. Extractions performed for a wide variety of reasons, including tooth decay that has destroyed enough tooth structure, to render the tooth non-restorable.
Wisdom teeth sometimes have to be extracted if they have come through at an awkward angle and are causing problems.
Teeth are sometimes taken out from children's mouths to help other teeth grow straight, when they are crowded.

ORTHODONTICS

A genuine smile is infectious and can give you a real boost to your confidence and self esteem. We can give you a beautiful and natural new smile. Our orthodontic service is rated highly. We have a resident Orthodontic Specialist (Dr G Fickert) and an experienced Orthodontic Therapist (Miss K Rodgers). Treatments include fixed appliances, invisible appliances and removable appliances for adults and children.
