Karate for all in Featherstone, Wakefield and Normanton

We are a small friendly karate club affiliated to the British Karate Association. We offer traditional Shotokan karate and kick boxing to a high standard. We train in our own fully matted dojo in Featherstone. (see website for current timetable).

We accept children from age 5 years and teach all ages with no upper age limit. We are fully regulated and all instructors are insured and CRB checked. We deliver quality tuition and any grades you earn are recognised worldwide. We would never tie you into a contract and expect you pay when you are not training and our fees are kept to a minimum with generous discounts for close family members. We have families who all train and learn together because of our generous family membership fees. We are suitable for absolute beginners of all ages. Great way to get fit and learn new skills.

Family Club.

Sengoku Martial Arts offers Shotokan Karate and Kick boxing and is based in our own fully matted venue in Featherstone. The association is a member of the British Karate Association which is affiliated to the English Karate Federation and the World Karate Federation. We are fully insured and all instructors are CRB checked.

Karate is an excellent way to get fit whilst having fun. It is an activity that all the family can join in with and learn together. You are never too old to start learning karate. We have beginners of all ages. Exercising and taking up a new skill at an older age is an excellent way to get fit and keep your brain active. We have mixed ability classes where beginners, higher grades, adults and children all learn together but we also have adult only sessions where you can train without the distraction of our younger members. Whether you're an absolute beginner or you've trained before you are welcome to either begin or continue your martial arts journey with us.

The grading and belt system of martial arts allows you to monitor your progress and gives you a stuctured programme of development.

Prices are kept affordable and we would never expect you to sign a long term contract. We offer several membership options to fit into your budget and these can be swapped about or cancelled easily depending on your circumstances. We also offer a pay as you train option. We do however ask that after a few weeks of training you become a member of the British Karate Association (currently £20 a year*), which ensures you are insured and any grades you earn are recognised internationally.

Karate is a fully inclusive sport and which can be adapted to allow you to fulfill your full potential despite any physical or mental disabilities you may have. We cater for children on the autistic spectrum and always teach in a patient understanding manner.

We offer personal training sessions for anyone who wishes to improve their techniques or get in some extra practice prior to competition.
