Rupert is a vile little man. Probably the most arrogant person I have ever met. Avoid at all costs.

Worst company I've ever come across in my life

Do a little search online for some of the reviews of this firm. I've yet to see anything positive!!! As a letting agent they are supposed to represent both the landlord and the tenants. Rupert the manager of the firm treats you almost as if your something he's wiped of his shoe and does very little to actually solve problems but instead insults and becomes dismissive which makes matters far from better. I work near the firm and almost every day I walk past the office window I see Rupert playing online poker games. It's a little disconcerting that the man handling all your money appears to have some sort of of gambling problem and is also quiet incompetent at resolving any matter you put to him. If your still not convinced I ask that you have a conversation with the man before agreeing to signing for any property. After 30 seconds I guarantee you will end up seeing what sort of person he's like, and whether he's the person you want responsible for your home.

Where to start... This company is the most shocking letting agency I have ever come across. My first piece of advice is to stay well away if you like to have matters solved quickly and with minimal disruption. Whilst renting from Shropshire Lettings me and my partner have had nothing but grief. The company director, Rupert is by far the most arrogant man I have met in my life (and I work with over 100 people per day). On our first arrival when handing over our deposit money, we were told he had forgotten our meeting but, we 'may as well take a seat'. Not a good start! Following that, we were told that the damp patches on the bedroom ceiling would be fixed prior to us moving in. Not the case. Whether this is the letting agency's fault or that of the landlord, I guess we will neve know. When we went to report this problem ( and a fault with the shower, please see later) after moving in the company director was very disinterested and said he would sort it at some point. Obviously the damp patch was not so much of an issue, but a shower that does not work is a problem. During this conversation Rupert was extremely rude to myself saying that 'You teachers are the worst kind'. I had to leave his office as I could not tolerate his rudeness anymore. Since that meeting, my partner dealt with all correspondence with him. To this day, I have never recieved a personal apology. After weeks of having a faulty shower (and having no alternative but to shower at friends houses) we contacted Rupert again. He said he was waiting for response from the landlord. This I can not comment on but either way, the letting agency or the landlord was at fault showing that one or both or incompetent. After many plumbers visits the shower was in working order again, only to have the same fault the following winter. I can appreciate that their will be faults and that a certain amount of time is needed for it to be put right. However, this time it was over Christmas, so freezing cold showers it was for us over December. We also had a couple of problems with the boiler which we reported to Rupert but not much really came of that. During these ongoing issues, my partner left reviews online. These were fair and all details could be proven with the email correspondence we had. However, when ending our tenancy Rupert requested him to remove these reviews as we 'couldn't understand the impact it would have on his company'. When my partner questioned this and brought up the fact that other people had also had the same experiences, Rupert's response was 'I need to deal with the likes of you'. Eventually the review was removed as we did not want to jepodise our deposit. Now some time has lapsed,I can leave my honest review. My main issue with Shropshire Lettings is not the faults within the apartment that we lived in but Rupert himself. I am very very glad I had a calm partner who could deal with him. I suggest if you are a single lady to stay clear of Shropshire Lettings. As said before the director is rude, verbally aggressive and has no form of manners.

I can only agree with the last review!! I had the misfortune to encounter this company when looking for a house to rent. I had to fill in a "preliminary" form after viewing the property last saturday and hand delivered the application for it that evening. After emailing them on monday to enquire how my application was going I was told, very rudely, that they had not received the application and that the house had been let anyway! so much for a preliminary application!! whats the point if they let it to the first person who walks off the street. I will not be enquiring about any properties they have to let ever again. I know lots of agents in Shrewsbury personally and will be mentioning to them how not to treat people. `

Speaking as a Landlord and Tenant I first met Rupert (fleetingly) a partner in Shropshire Lettings some months back and in the 10 seconds it took to hand me a list of properties I thought rude/ignorant. The second occasion I met him even when not speaking to him but a colleague he came across as arrogant and disrespectful to me and his landlords property. And finally it seems he has added unprofessional to his repertiore. A very poor agent and that is saying something since the last agent I used as in my capacity as landlord did a runner (went out of business) with my tenants deposit and my rent. Will avoid myself and advise anyone else to be very careful as cant see any hope of improvement in someone so self absorbed.
