As you will be aware Shuttleworth is still a relatively new college and, after a difficult start, is now making good progress. Examination performance has improved significantly and we are determined to build on this success, provide an outstanding education for all our students and ensure that they all enjoy college and succeed.

Student numbers have increased since the college opened and we now have around 950 students on roll. A school of this size is large enough to offer the full range of curriculum opportunities yet small enough to retain a community feel where staff can get to know everyone. Similarly, we have a truly comprehensive intake, ranging from very able students to those who need significant additional support, and we are equally proud of all their achievements.

Our new building is impressive and has provided us with excellent facilities and resources for teaching and learning. Staff have high expectations of all our students and interesting and engaging lessons ensure that they are motivated and want to learn. Similarly, relationships between staff and students are good and our Behavior Policy ensures that poor behaviour is not tolerated and that students are recognised and rewarded for getting things right. Shutlleworth is a happy community, something that we feel is essential if our students are to fulfil their potential.
