Our Academy Director, Sid Sottung, is a world recognized professional in hairdressing and the art of Barbering. He has over 20 years experience in the high end of the industry working for such companies as Vidal Sassoon. His career has taken him from Vidal Sassoon’s globally acclaimed hair salons in New York Fifth Avenue, Beverly Hills Los Angeles and Washington DC, Sid then progressed into the field of professional hair education and formerly taught at the world renowned Vidal Sassoon Advanced Academy and School of Classic Cutting in Mayfair London and the Vidal Sassoon Education Centre in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. Following his highly enjoyable and successful career at Vidal Sassoon, Sid then pursued a dynamic freelance career, working backstage at a selection of the worlds most revered international fashion shows, collaborating with avant garde cutting edge photographers in fashion editorial work, crafting hair for television and film productions, in addition to attending to his ever growing celebrity male & female clientele internationally.

As an integral part of his career as a professional hair educator, Sid has actively taken part in educational shows and on stage teaching seminars for a selection of the leading names in professional hairdressing including Wella, Fudge, Davines and Vidal Sassoon, in addition to providing an exclusive in house bespoke educational service to prestigious leading international and national hair salons, barber shops, education schools and colleges globally.

Highly in demand for his expertise, Sid has recently appeared as a celebrity barber and wet shaving expert upon the world famous hairdressing education website Myhairdressers.com, sharing his expertise to millions of industry professionals globally guest starring in a series of step by step barbering and wet shaving educational presentations.

His expansive career has allowed him to share his love of hairdressing and barbering education to all, with many of his students crediting him to the success of their prosperous careers.

It is this very dedication to the provision of high quality elite hairdressing and barbering education that proved to be inspiration behind the opening of COBRA Hair Academy and then for him further his career by opening up his own academy, Sid Sottung Academy.
