CD's Record and Cassette Wholesalers in London

With shelves stacked full of 7"s behind the counter, Sister Ray is everything a record shop should be. Filled with obscure breaking bands' debuts and classics, you'll definitely find what you want. The best thing about this place is the staff, because they're always ready to help you find that single you couldn't find in the nearby HMV or newly christened zavvi (but why would you be there anyway?), and are quick, polite and are always willing to help. Also puts on the occasional instore performance to entertain customers, which is how I first found out about this place. Well worth exploring the side roads off Oxford Street to find shops as good as this one.

I'm not fantastically well educated in the London Music scene. I don't think i have the temprament. I like music, but I don't buy as much as I want and I always forget the names of bands and albums that I want when I enter a record shop... which is why Sister Ray is brilliant... Their staff seem to spend all their spare time reading every single music magazine known to man. You could probably ask them anything about contemporary music and they'd have an answer. That's pretty cool. and they don't seem to mind being questioned either, which is fantastic. situated in Soho, it's quite large with an extensive back catalogue and a nice load of new releases. It specialises in mainly alternative stuff - ranging from indie, metal and post-rock through folk and contemporary composistion. So if that's your scene and you hadn't been there already, it's well worth a look.

This shop has a lot of alternative music. You can find here that music you are not able to find in another big stores. And also you have vinyl so that you find the music you always wanted to have. Groups like Sparklehorse or Adam and the ants can be found here. You find also Detroit escalator, Freddie Mercury, Audioslave, Bishops, Pop Levi, etc. Come here and find yours, it is perfect.
