SMSR offers clients the opportunity to carry out ‘reflector groups' following a consultation. These have the powerful effect of translating numbers into words/reasons.

SMSR offer a full in-house postal survey service. All our mailouts are collated, checked and franked at our Head Office in Hull. We use the Royal Mail collection service (PPI) to distribute the questionnaires and all returns are monitored, tracked and reminder questionnaires are sent out if required.

We have own unique online capabilities that offer the client a very cost effective way of capturing information. Our online surveys are designed to achieve maximum interest and to make it as easy as possible to complete. With specific colours and organisational logos, % bar's and save and resume features, the online-questionnaire can produce significant responses rates, especially with the harder to reach groups.

SMSR have years of experience in undertaking in-depth interviews ranging from members of the general public to Councillors to victims of crime to Chief Executives.

Focus groups

SMSR have a highly successful method that ensures a good attendance to any type of focus group. We have refined the art of focus group recruitment, facilitation and report writing over our 20 year history.

We always approach the focus group process with our own unique personal style. We have a dedicated team of recruiters that make initial contact over the telephone, giving full details on what the group process is about, where it is and why it is being held. The potential attendee is told how long it will last and are usually offered an incentive for their time. A venue is chosen to suit the nature of the topic being discussed and the organisation the group is being arranged for.

Face to face consulation

We offer a dedicated service using a consistent team of face to face interviewers that work across all parts of the United Kingdom using a variety of different methodologies including door knocking, on-street interviewing, in-house interviewing and in-depth interviewing.

Data process

SMSR uses three different data processing methodologies dependant on the type of research undertaken. All our telephone data is automatically transferred from the telephone system into an SPSS database where it is checked and cross checked before the analysis stage of the project.

Data Analysis

SMSR have a team of vastly experienced data analysts who can produce many variations of results. As standard we deliver topline and cross tabulated computer tables using SPSS, SNAP Software and Merlinplus.

Telephone Consultation

We have our own in-house telephone call centre which is an integral part of the success of the company. The call centre operates from 9am through 9pm, six days a week and enables us to offer a telephone interviewing service that has been part of our overall service since 1991.
