worst colour I ever had
I went into the salon light brown, I asked to go much lighter, with natural highlights. I came out of the salon DARK brown with awful BLONDE highlights. The highlights didn't lift my hair at all, they just looked streaky - of course blonde would not look natural next to dark brown. He didn't even put a toner on the blonde bits. I went in two weeks later as it hadn't faded at all and told him why I wasn't happy. He didn't listen at all and recommended he put more highlights in to lighten it even though I just said how much I hated the highlights AND wanted to charge me to do so!! Never been so unhappy with my hair. I had to find another hairdressers to put it right and give me the achievable colour I asked for.

Excellent
I've had some bad experiences in the past with hairdressers but Will has restored my faith. I am sooo pleased with my colour and cut. He's very patient (despite me changing my mind!) and really listens to what I want. I'm very impressed that he didn't cut my hair in the same boring old way (bob) that every other hairdresser has done and it's the first time people at work etc have complimented me on my hair. Lovely friendly salon with a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Amazing
Will does my hair and agree with all of the other comments - very attentive and the best cut/colour I've ever had. Very reasonable prices considering location too. Definitely recommend xxx

Total faith
Natalie has been my hairdresser for nearly 8 years now and is amazing and such a perfectionist. I always feel like I'm being treated like a VIP even though I am such a bad customer (manange to only get my hair cut about twice a year). In fact it's Natalie's fault that I'm such an infrequent visitor as I don't know anyone else who has ever managed to create a cut that stays looking good from short to shoulder length - everyone else assumes I get a new style every couple of months. Essentially Natalie's a genius, she even makes my husband (who spends most of his life in a beanie hat and mechanics overalls) look like a model from some kind of posh coffee advert. And the salon is very relaxed, all the staff are very friendly as there's none of that edge / affected attitude that used to blight my experience of going to hairdressers (the more fashionable - the worse that seems to get - although Fish in Soho was an exception in the late 90s - this is a bit like that was then). Enjoy!

thanks to reading a great review on this site I had my hair done today by Dan at Soul, and I love it! Nice guy, lovely premises and really friendly atmosphere - and the haircut's pretty amazing too (and I normally hate having my hair done thanks to lots of bad experiences). Well recommended! Just so you know - they've recently moved to Derby Road (but its the same phone number)
