Soundhoppers offer world music workshops and fun introductions to a wide variety of instruments.
Inspired by the natural world, Ruth and Steve invite children and their parents to look, listen and play. To enjoy the simple pleasure of creating sound and explore a whole new world of musicianship!
We take pride in our ability to liaise with you and come up with a suitable session plan to fulfill your needs. Children are naturally keen to experiment and so we try to achieve a balance between structured formats and a more improvised co-creative approach.
In the case of special needs the emphasis is on individuals being able to experience the vibrational effects of a variety of instruments.
We are able to offer workshops that particularly focus on therapy and individual/group well-being.
Workshops can be arranged to encompass World Music, Nature themed Soundscapes, Songs and Movement and Composition.
Our instruments include: Drums of many cultural back-grounds, Udus, Didgeridoos, African Kora, Singing Bowls, a Wind Gong, various stringed instruments and a very wide selection of hand percussion.
The collection is continually being added to!
