Southport and Formby Physiotherapy Clinic was established as Fiveways Physiotherapy Clinic in Liverpool in 2004. The company moved to Southport in June 2007 and became incorporated as "Southport and Formby Physiotherapy Clinic Ltd" in January 2010, to reflect the new client base. Physiotherapy Services are offered from 2 bases, one in Ainsdale and one in Formby. The Director and Practice Principal, David Gibbons, has been training and working in physiotherapy for 18 years and has an excellent training background from 8 years in the NHS. David is a highly trained physiotherapist at Masters Level, with membership of the elite "MACP" - Manipulations Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. He is also a fully registered acupuncturist, a member of The Health Professions Council and The CSP. David is committed to lifelong learning and continuing professional development and incorporates an evidence base into the clinical diagnosis he makes and treatment plan he creates. The main emphasis and difference with the practice is that treatment consists, in the most part, of manual therapy to help get tight or stiff body parts moving again, which are invariably the cause of the presenting pains. This is something that medication and machines alone can not do. The cause of the pain is removed and not just the symptoms.
