About Speakup

Established in 1988, Speakup is recognised as a leading national self advocacy organisation run by and for people with a learning disability, promoting the rights of disabled people, providing education and information and supporting people to live independent and full lives.

We are a major independent employer of people with learning disabilities and are developing a number of projects, both locally and nationally, to further increase employment opportunities for people with a learning disability. Speakup is a NOCN accredited training provider and assessor, and have been providing accredited and none accredited training for a number of years; many courses have a vocational emphasis and major on enabling rights, independence, choice and inclusion.

Speakup is here to enable and empower some of the most disadvantaged and marginalised people in society lead fully inclusive, independent, healthy and prosperous lives; bringing real improvements to communities, and to the lives of people most in need.
