Starlet Dance School

Our children's dance classes are excellent ways to teach and inspire any age group. All of our dance lessons are open to children from 3 years old upwards. Each first lesson is a free trial lesson. The next time you dance we can add you in to our 5 stage dance program. We will put you in a group that makes you comfortable. Each stage is based on age and ability. Our philosophy is that first and foremost, dancing should be fun. This is a philosophy we take with us into every dance group, in every dance lesson. We want you to have fun with us, so you will come back to dance with us again. Not only do we offer dance lessons, we also offer singing lessons and dance groups that you can be a part of. This consists of styles in Street, Lyrical, Jazz, Modern, Hip-Hop and Locking. Classes start with a warm-up where technique and flexibility are both worked on. Children also learn how to choreograph their own movements for an annual competition. This is a freestyle, non-graded Ballet class, where the emphasis is on fun, deportment, technique and performance. We work on ballet dances to perform in our Christmas and Summer Shows. Tap involves Freestyle, learning basic techniques and putting it into various styles of music and rhythm. Singing involves a vocal warm up, breathing techniques and learning repertoire from musical theatre, pop and classical. Drama involves Script, Mime, Solo performances, Group performances and learning accents. We also incorporate confidence building games, improvisation and using your imagination.
